ABOUT DESERT WOLF PRODUCTIONS:

Desert Wolf Productions was founded by John Logan in 2012 to create film, television and theater projects. 
Desert Wolf released its first feature film GENIUS in 2016 (now available On Demand and DVD) and is currently developing various projects for film and television.


JOHN LOGAN

John Logan received the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critic Circle and Drama League awards for his play Red. This play premiered at the Donmar Warehouse in London and at the Golden Theatre on Broadway. Since then Red has had more than 200 productions across the US and has been presented in over 30 countries. He is the author of more than a dozen other plays including Peter and Alice, I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers and Never the Sinner. Musical theatre work includes Moulin Rouge, The Last Ship and Swept Away. As a screenwriter, Logan has been three times nominated for the Oscar and has received a Golden Globe, BAFTA, WGA, Edgar, and PEN Center award. His film work includes Skyfall, Spectre, Hugo, The Aviator, Gladiator, Rango, Alien: Covenant, Genius, Coriolanus, Sweeney Todd, The Last Samurai, Any Given Sunday and RKO 281. He also created and produced the television series Penny Dreadful for Showtime.

JAMES J BAGLEY

James J. Bagley is President of Desert Wolf Productions with primary responsibility for its feature films and theatrical productions. He served as Executive Producer for DWP’s first feature film, Genius, based on the A. Scott Berg biography of Maxwell Perkins, adapted for the screen by John Logan, and featuring Colin Firth, Jude Law, Nicole Kidman and Laura Linney. He also produced the award-winning film, Everyday Miracles, written and directed by Marty Madden and featuring Gary Cole, Lusia Strus, Erik Scott Smith and Zoe Perry. In television, he is Co-Executive Producer of the Showtime series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels created by John Logan.  As a theatrical producer, Bagley was a principal in Bagley/Perkins Productions (Chicago) which produced several plays including: The Wind in the Willows, a musical adaptation of the Kenneth Grahame book by Douglas Post; A Walk in the Woods by Lee Blessing; and Bleacher Bums by Joe Mantgena; and, as James Bagley Productions, was a producer of Never the Sinner by John Logan in London’s West End. Bagley has worked as an entertainment attorney, business and personal manager both in Chicago and Los Angeles. He is formerly General Counsel to Steppenwolf Theatre Company (Chicago) and the Chicago International Film Festival.

 

DEVON LIPE

Devon Lipe is the Vice President of Desert Wolf Productions. In 2015, she obtained her bachelor's degree in Apparel Design & Marketing from the University of Missouri. Afterwards, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in fashion. Two years later, her interest in the creative side of the entertainment industry incited a career change and she joined the Desert Wolf team as the Executive Assistant and Office Manager, eventually taking on the role of Vice President in 2023.

COLIN LIDDLE

Colin Liddle is a Writer and Associate Producer on Desert Wolf Productions’ Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. In 2013, he moved to Los Angeles from Salt Lake City, Utah to pursue a career in screenwriting. He joined Desert Wolf in 2015.

 

Joe Eckstein

Joe Eckstein, Assistant at Desert Wolf Productions, earned his bachelor's degree in Film Production from the University of Missouri in 2017. Relocating to Los Angeles in 2018, he delved into various facets of the industry, honing skills in sound design, special effects and screenwriting. In 2022, Joe's multifaceted expertise and passion for storytelling led him to join the Desert Wolf team.
